LARTE – ABURI Tour - Akosombo

After breakfast, we will drive to Akonedi Shrine at Larte.  They will brief you on the significance of our traditional beliefs and the Shrine; the elders of the village pay homage to the gods at the shrine on behalf of the entire township during special occasions. We will meet for lunch at a local restaurant. Followed by a ride to Aburi Botanical Gardens where you experience the pure nature and fresh breeze of the gardens. There will be a brief tour of the gardens including education on the trees and the botanical names. Return to the hotel.


After breakfast, we will travel to Shai Hills, the home of “friendly elephants”. Enjoy your walking Safari through this pristine The Shai Hills resource reserve is a forest reserve where the animals live in their natural habitat and also have a museum attached to the park and the traditional home of the Shai people of Ghana they were forced out of their homes by the British so we all see relics of human activities and explore the ancient caves Return to the hotel.

Assin Manso Tour

After breakfast leave for Kumasi making a stopover at the Assin Manso slave river site for the biggest slave market in the south and where the slaves had their last bath and first branding before being sent to the forts and Castles in Cape Coast and Elmina.

Prempeh Museum Tour

Prempeh ll museum for a guided tour into Ashanti history and culture and also see the fake golden stool that was given to the British when the governor demanded it. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Kakum National Park

Drive to Kakum National Park to experience a rare tropical rainforest and have an adventurous walk on the canopy walkway to have a panoramic view of this tropical rainforest with different species of butterflies. Also, learn about the cultural and economic values of the trees to the people.

Craft Village Tour

After breakfast leave for Manyiah Palace Museum for a guided tour in the great Ashanti empire and kings and rare collections of royal paraphernalias and see effigies of past Ashanti kings. We continue to the craft villages of Bonwire for Kente weaving and learn about the art of weaving this famous kente cloth. Continue to Ntonso for Adinkra cloth where you will learn about how they get the black color for making the cloth and learn the process and the various symbols that speak to the people or proverbial sayings. We move to Ahwiaa for wood carvings and fertility dolls and stools.

Kintampo Falls

We leave for Kintampo waterfall and arrive and enjoy this wonderful falls that falls in three stages. We continue to Buaben Fiama Monkey Sanctuary where the monkeys share the same community with the people and they are scared of the people and when they die they are buried just like any member of the community.

Ho Tour Akosombo

This morning, we will travel to Akosombo to view one of the largest man-made lakes in the world that is the beautiful Volta Lake. We then proceed to Akosombo Dam for a guided tour. They will educate us on how electricity is generated in Ghana. Lunch at a local restaurant.  Free leisure.
